About Nancy Mulvey

I work as a psychotherapist with adolescents, adults, couples, and families. I try to help my clients with whatever issues they are struggling with in their lives. Often these issues involve relationships, depression, anxiety, and low self-esteem. I am experienced in treating adult survivors of childhood abuse.

A special feature of my practice involves collaboration with my colleague, Thomas Wales, in working with families. One of us will work with a child or adolescent and the other will work with the parents. We can then come together for joint family sessions in order to improve relationships and family functioning.

I have had a private psychotherapy practice since 2002. I also worked as a medical social worker for 18 years. In addition, I provided counseling and psychotherapy to adolescents in a school-based clinic setting for 15 years. I received a Master's Degree in Social Work from the College of St. Catherine and the University of St. Thomas. I have also had advanced training in psychotherapy through the Minnesota Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis. I am licensed by the state of Minnesota as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker.
